Is There A Need To Celebrate?

This 26th Jan when I woke up from my sleep I was still in bed thinking if we really are republic? With 64 successful years this great country has come through and a constitution containing 395 constitutional articles which is supposed to be said as the largest constitution of the world.

In fact, our country was previously known as the country of farmers but it has now got completely changed and is known as the country of business tycoons in the present world. It is this country that gives us some constitutionals rights of equality, justice and liberty.

But it is very sad to say that these rights are only on paper and not being practically implemented anywhere in the country. Where people are discriminated in some remote villages where there is no adequate education and women are not treated equally because of the primitive style of thinking that still prevails in them.

People have to run from pillar to pillar to radiate their voice that they do not get justice. Where a case lodged in a court takes years to give justice to the victim, because there are already a thousand of them pending with no one to deal with them. This in turn discourages the victims and he/she prefers to stay alive without doing anything and bearing all odds.

Liberty is another matter that does not prevail here, as you are not allowed to express your voice or the freedom of speech due to the political pressures. If you go to a police station with some complaint you would be even discouraged by them to lodge it.

Is this country really republic? If yes then in what sense can we say that??? It is because I don’t believe that this is the country for which our freedom fighters actually fought for against the British. I think if they came to know that this is the India that they gave up their lives and their families for they probably would be upset. Ask any freedom fighter or anyone who took part in the fight for freedom who is still alive, I think they would tell you that this is just the opposite of what they planned for us.

The worst that can support this is the no. of rapes that are happening around the country. I guess here we worship goddess, and yes it is the same country where the females have been discriminated and were forced to stay apart from the men in social functions or may be any other damn thing.

If there is a female working in an office she is look as she is supposed to only work at home and take care of the needs of the family. I don’t think this is the actual India our freedom fighters fought for. “India is my country all Indians are my brothers and sisters” is only a saying and not something that actually comes from thy heart. Citizens have to go on peace rallies, protest marches and candle light prayers for their sisters who are fighting for justice.

With this I’ve got to say only this that there is no feeling of republic in this country and it should change, we’ve got to change chis together “Heal the world; make it a better place for you and for me and the entire human race…”
